PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: T2 glottic carcinomas may be treated with conservative surgery or radiotherapy. The aim of treatment is cure and laryngeal voice preservation. Both surgery and irradiation are equally effective in its treatment, however, among patients who had undergone radiation therapy that presente local recurrence, the salvage approach is more prone to be total laryngectomy, thus, with lower rates of larynx preservation. On the other hand, voice uses to be better in patients treated by irradiation than in those treated by surgery.

OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 1: To discuss the treatment indications for T2 glottic cancer.

OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 2: To evaluate the oncological outcomes in the different therapeutic approaches

OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 3: To evaluate the functional outcomes in the different therapeutic approaches.

BACKGROUND STATEMENT: - T2 glottic cancer may be treated with conservative surgery or radiotherapy
- total laryngectomy is more prone to be the salvage treatment among patients who had undergone radiation therapy with local recurrence.
