FERNANDO LUIZ DIAS, MD, PhD, FACS
Bachelor's at Medicine School from University Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1980), Master's in General Surgery - Thoracic Surgery Department from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1995) and Doctorate at Medicine from Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo (1999). He is currently Chief of the Head and Neck Surgery Service of the Brazilian National Cancer Institute, and Chairman of the Department of Head and Neck Surgery of the Post Graduate School of Medicine of the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. He is, also, Senior Research Fellow at the Post-Graduate program of the Brazilian National Cancer Institute / Molecular Carcinogenesis Program. Has experience in Medicine, focusing on Head and Neck Oncology / Surgery, acting on the following subjects: Skin Cancer, Salivary Gland Tumors, Thyroid and Parathyroid Diseases, Tumors of the Aerodigestive tract, Tumors of the Skull Base, Reconstruction in Head and Neck Surgery, Trans-Oral Robotic and Laser Surgery.
International Corresponding member of the American Head and Neck Society, North American Skull Base Society, American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
Past President of the Brazilian Head and Neck Surgery Society
President of the International Federation of Skull Base Societies.
