Rick F. Nelson MD, PhD is an Associate Professor of Otolaryngology and Neurosurgery at Indiana University. Dr. Nelson completed his undergraduate studies at Knox College and his MD/PhD at the University of Iowa School of Medicine. He then completed his Otolaryngology residency training and Neurotology/skull base fellowship at the University of Iowa. Clinically, Dr. Nelson specializes in the management of hearing loss, spontaneous CSF leaks, and lateral skull base tumors. His NIH-funded research seeks to understand the mechanism of genetically mediated hearing loss.
