Thomas Murry, PhD, is professor in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Loma Linda Health University, Loma Linda California and Adjunct Professor, Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. He is a speech language pathologist with a life-long interest in the diagnosis treatment and research of voice and swallowing disorders. His main research for the past 35 years has been with movement disorders of the voice including spasmodic dysphonia, paradoxical vocal fold motion and vocal fold palsy. As an educator, clinical scientist and clinician, he has an extensive history of over 150 peer-reviewed publications and over 300 national and international lectures in voice and swallowing disorders. He is a Fellow of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association and received the Honors of the American Speech Language and Hearing Disorders Association in 2010. He is a member of Scientific Advisory Boards of the Voice Foundation, Pan European Voice Consortium, International Association of Phonosurgery and Associate member of the American Laryngological Association and the American Bronchoesophageal Association. He is the author or co-author of 12 books in voice and swallowing.
