Matthew S. Parsons, MD, is an associate professor of radiology at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR) at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Parsons, also assistant program director of the radiology residency program, served in the United States Army Reserves for 15 years. In 2017, he was named neuroradiology quality and safety officer. He is the director of Head and Neck imaging at MIR but has a strong affinity for spine imaging as well. An MIR alumnus, Parsons completed a fellowship in neuroradiology, following a diagnostic radiology residency at Saint Louis University. His research interests include brachial plexus imaging, head and neck radiology, image post-processing, and cost-effective imaging.
Parsons is a member of several professional organizations, including the Radiological Society of North America, American Society of Neuroradiology, American Society of Spine Radiology, American Society of Head and Neck Radiology, and American Roentgen Ray Society. He also serves on the School of Medicine’s Committee on Admissions. Parsons earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and his bachelor’s degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
