Research specializing in hearing loss prevention, hearing protection, and epidemiology, Dr. Antony Joseph, AuD, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Audiology at Illinois State University (ISU). He was the first audiologist with clinical-science credentials in Audiology (AuD-PhD). A licensed practitioner for over 30 years, Dr. Joseph is a National Academies of Practice (NAP) Distinguished Scholar and Fellow and is board certified by the American Board of Audiology. His other certifications include the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association, Professional Supervisor by the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation, and Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt). Navy retired, he served as Clinic Director for one of the US Navy’s largest outpatient centers, as a Director of Public Health overseas, and deployed as a Medical Director for the OIF/OEF Campaign. Dr. Joseph served as Secretary-Treasurer of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA), Chair of the American Board of Audiology, and two-term Chair of the NAP Audiology Academy. He is currently the Chair of the AAA Diversity Equity Inclusion and Belonging Committee and NAP Audiology Academy Leadership Development Committee.
