Cem Meco MD, FEBORL-HNS is a Professor of ORL-HNS at Ankara University, Turkey as well as at Salzburg Paracelsus Medical University, Austria. He is the Immediate Past President of the Confederation of European ORL-HNS and President of the European Board Examination in ORL-HNS, in which he also serves as Examiner since over a decade. Furthermore, he functions at different positions among other international and national societies like the Advisory Boards of UEMS-ORL Section, European Rhinologic Society, and Executive Boards of the European and Turkish Skull Base Societies.

After receiving his medical degree from Ankara University, Turkey, he did his residency in Salzburg, Austria under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Klaus Albegger where he further continued to work for several years and had advanced training on Otology-Neurotology, Cochlear Implantation, Skull Base Surgery, as well as Rhinology and Advanced Sinus Surgery. He is a board certified “Fellow” in Europe.

While continuing to be a faculty member in Salzburg to date since 2004, he also became a faculty at Ankara University, where he established the CI Program, enhanced the Skull Base team with endoscopic techniques and lately, from 2015 to 2018, served as the Chairman till he became the President of the CEORL.

He is the author or co-author of many presented or published papers and book chapters, as well as a worldwide invited faculty at various significant congresses, seminars, webinars and dissection courses, giving numerous presentations and lectures throughout his career.

Among many other society memberships, he is an Honorary Member of the Austrian and Hungarian ORL-HNS Societies, Member of the Turkish, German (Corresponding), Balkan and Danube (Honorary) ORL-HNS Societies; the American Academy of ORL-HNS Foundation; the European, Turkish, American and Bulgarian (Honorary) Rhinologic Societies, European Academy of Otology-Neurotology and the European, German and Turkish Skull Base Societies, as well as CORLAS.
