Richard Rosenfeld, MD, MPH, MBA is a Distinguished Professor of Otolaryngology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, in Brooklyn, New York, where he served for 13 years as Department Chair and residency Program Director. He has received 5 Distinguished Service Awards from AAO-HNS, was recognized in 2022 by AAO-HNS as a Legend in Otolaryngology in their Hall of Distinction, and has been listed every year since 2000 as one of “America’s Best Doctors” by Castle Connolly. Dr. Rosenfeld is Board Certified in Lifestyle Medicine, follows a whole food, plant-based diet, runs marathons, and enjoys regular weight training. He is on the Board of the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine and is Director of Guidelines and Quality for the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.
Dr. Rosenfeld has published more than 350 articles and chapters, given more than 1,000 scientific presentations, and is recognized as an international authority in guideline methodology, evidence-based medicine, and childhood ear problems. His scholarship includes publications in Lancet, New England Journal of Medicine, and Nature reviews, yielding impactful publications with an h-index of 76 (76 publications cited at least 76 times). Dr. Rosenfeld is past editor-in-chief for Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery Journal, including 10 years on the Board of Directors for the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery. He is also a Past-President of the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology, Founder and Inaugural President of the International Society for Otitis Media, and Founder and Past-Chair of the Guideline International Network’s North American Community.
