Prof. Dr. Emmanuel Lescanne, MD PhD, was attended college and medical school in Limoges, and moved to the University of Tours for residency then fellowship in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery. He is graduated as an ORL-Head and Neck surgeon from the University of Tours, holds a degree in medico-legal expertise in Sorbonne University of Paris. As an assistant professor (chef de Clinique) he had his training under Prof. Dr. P. Beutter and Prof. Dr. A. Robier at the Bretonneau University Hospital in Tours. He also holds a Ph.D in life & health science of skull base microanatomy applied to vestibular schwannoma. He became a full professor and head of pediatric ORL dept and ORL-HNS dept, to date he is division head of Head-Neck Medico-Surgical Depts at the University Hospitals in Tours.
Prof. Dr. E. Lescanne is specialized in diagnostic and surgical care to adult and pediatric patients with diseases of the ear with a focus on hearing rehabilitation. He has special expertise in a broad range of major ear surgeries, from simple myringoplasty to complex tympanoplasty for extensive cholesteatoma, from robot-assist LASER stapedotomy under local anesthesia to middle ear and cochlear implantation. Prof. Dr. Lescanne is an active member of the French College of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology (past-president 2017-2022, board-member as honorary president), French Association of Otology-Neurotology (board) of SFORL, French Association of Pediatric ORL (past-president) of SFORL. He gives frequent contributions to national and international congresses and is author and co-author of more than 270 scientific papers in different international journals and books. Performing many tympanoplasties, ossiculoplasties and cochlear implantation, he runs annually 1 national and 2 international courses on middle ear and CI surgery at Temporal Bone Lab. of Tours.
