Dr. Fabiola Cruz López is a health scientist and medical student at Universidad Central del Caribe, Puerto Rico. She has a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Medical Microbiology. Cruz has worked on projects concerning disaster epidemiology, molecular diagnostics, virus evolution, infectious diseases emergency response, health education, and health systems administration. Cruz is a former Yale Ciencia Academy and the Global Health Policy Program fellow from Duke University in Geneva. During COVID-19 Pandemic, Cruz conceptualized, established, and lead the Municipal Case Investigation and Contact Tracing System (SMICRC) in all municipalities of PR. Also, she served as a member of the scientific coalition for the Secretary of Health and Governor of PR. She is committed to improving medicine and global health through an interdisciplinary and humanitarian approach.
