Paavali A. Hannikainen, BS is a fourth-year medical student at Sidney Kimmel Medical College (SKMC) of Thomas Jefferson University with the intent to apply to Otolaryngology residency in the next year. He received his Bachelor of Science from Emory University in 2018 graduating magna cum laude in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology with a minor in Global Health, Culture & Society. Subsequently, Paavali spent two years at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) conducting research at the NIH Clinical Center on Neuroimmunology with the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Paavali has pursued research with the Departments of Otolaryngology and Emergency Medicine while in medical school at SKMC and has an interest in advancing research for underrepresented minorities in medicine.
