Eagle Syndrome: Simplifying a Pain in the Neck

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Eagle’s syndrome is rare and is often a diagnosis of exclusion. Because there are more common etiologies for the various symptoms that could be seen with eagles syndrome, the diagnosis is often delayed. As such, patients can suffer months or years before the diagnosis is considered. This causes difficulty for both the patient and the physician. This expert lecture will review commonly reported patient history findings and symptoms. Imaging, anatomic, and differential diagnoses considerations will also be discussed. Finally, tips and techniques for successful surgical intervention will be shared.

BACKGROUND STATEMENT: Patients are self referring to my practice from all parts of the country for evaluation of eagle syndrome.This referral pattern indicates an active gap amongst Academy membership. Course reviews last year were well above the average with comments also indicating that the course addressed a gap.
