PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The AAO-HNS/F Academic Bowl this year will be a "Champions Tournament" inviting four top winning otolaryngology residency programs to return to the event to compete once more! This popular annual event is designed to foster a spirit of competition in a clinically-oriented battle of the brains amongst residents. Interactive, multiple-choice questions are generated through the education committees and are designed to test residents' knowledge in different otolaryngology subspecialties, the business of medicine, and new clinical research findings. The residency team with the highest score will win a prize and reign supreme!
OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 1: Gain knowledge across the subspecialties of otolaryngology.
OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 2: Compare one's knowledge base across a wide range of topics to their peers.
OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 3: Identify topics that are areas of weakness and identify gaps in knowledge.
BACKGROUND STATEMENT: The Academic Bowl challenges residents and physicians attending to test recall, interpretation, and problem-solving skills. The Academic Bowl continues to receive high-ratings, while offering an education format that is engaging and provides a positive team-based learning experience.
