PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Parathyroid surgery is often straightforward and can be performed rapidly and successfully. However, to the dread of many surgeons and patients, these cases can occasionally be complicated, prolonged and ultimately unsuccessful. This expert series is intended to help otolaryngologists perform safe and successful parathyroid surgery while preventing common errors that can lead to poor outcomes. Critical characteristics of the disease and important techniques to avoid surgical missteps will be highlighted.
