PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: This course draws on decades of experience among the panelists to review common complications in otology and neurotology. The focus would be on adequate preparation and technical pearls needed to avoid and manage the common complications such as hearing loss, cholesteatoma recurrence, facial nerve paralysis, vascular injury and CSF leak.

OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 1: 1- Be able to prepare by reviewing available clinical data to avoid complications.

OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 2: 2- Understand technical skills and clinical pearls to avoid complications

OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 3: 3- Understand the management of common otologic complications.

BACKGROUND STATEMENT: Complications are part of even the most competent and experienced surgeons. The best way to manage complications is to prevent them with adequate preparation through careful study of clinical data available. We hope to share our cumulative diverse experience with the audience.
