Leanne Goldberg MS CCC-SLP, is Faculty for the Icahn School of Medicine and the Director of Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) across the Mount Sinai Health System in New York City. In addition, she is a medical Speech-Language Pathologist specializing in the evaluation and treatment of voice, swallowing, and respiratory disorders. She sees patients at the Grabscheid Voice and Swallowing Center at Mount Sinai.
Ms. Goldberg earned her Bachelor of Science at New York University and her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology at Columbia University in 2004. She completed her Fellowship training year at Mount Sinai Hospital, and has been practicing in the specialty of medical speech pathology in 2005. Over that time, she developed expertise in managing disorders of swallowing and voice, as well as patients with language disorders after stroke or traumatic brain injury. She filled a gap in treatment, and assisted in the creation of an outpatient cognitive remediation program for high functioning adults post brain injury.
In 2013, she was recruited to the Grabscheid Voice and Swallowing center where she continues to work with elite performance and professional voice users. She is highly skilled at working with transgender and gender diverse individuals on achieving a voice congruent with their gender identity. She has honed her skills evaluating and treating patients with a wide range of swallowing disorders.
Leanne Goldberg MS CCC-SLP has developed novel behavioral strategies for the patient with laryngeal hypersensitivity/chronic cough, that has not responded to medical interventions. She has been able to have their cough symptoms ameliorated after only a few therapy sessions.
Ms. Goldberg enjoys mentoring new clinicians, and initiated and maintains a medical SLP Fellowship program focused on voice, swallowing and upper airway disorders. She is certified by ASHA and has publications in the areas of voice, swallowing and upper airway disorders.
