Ron Mitchell, MD is Professor of Otolaryngology and Pediatrics and Chief of Pediatric Otolaryngology, UT Southwestern Medical Center, Children's Medical Center Dallas. He is also the holder of the William Beckner Distinguished Chair in Otolaryngology
He completed his Otolaryngology residency in London, England and a Pediatric Otolaryngology Fellowship in LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center in Memphis, TN. His clinical and research interests are on the management of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in children. He has received several grants and has published over 100 manuscripts in peer reviewed journals. He has chaired several national committees and has been involved in guideline development on a variety of Pediatric Otolaryngology topics. He is a PI for the Pediatric Adenotonsillectomy Trial (PATS) and completed the Randomized Controlled Study of Adenotonsillectomy for Childhood Sleep Apnea (CHAT) both sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI)
