Bas Pullens MD, PhD received his medical education at the University of Utrecht, The Netherlands where he also trained as an otorhinolaryngologist. After his training, he started working as a pediatric otorhinolaryngologist in 2011 under guidance of Hans Hoeve who was the Dutch leading pediatric airway surgeon at that time. From that moment, Bas has been working as a pediatric ENT specialist at the Sophia Children’s Hospital in Rotterdam, which is the largest children’s hospital in The Netherlands.
He currently runs the Sophia airway team which is the national referral center for complex airway anomalies and recognized national center of excellence for laryngotracheal stenosis and clefts. Dr. Pullens specializes in pediatric airway management and reconstructions with special interest in long-term outcome for which he wrote his PhD thesis in 2017.
He is married with two children. Other interests include football (the one where you're not permitted to use your hands), cycling (of course, being Dutch..) cooking and consequently eating, playing guitar (poorly) and spending time with friends.
