Dr. Mandal is an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Johns Hopkins University. He is a head and neck cancer surgeon-scientist with expertise in the surgical treatment of benign and malignant tumors of the head and neck. He also serves as Director of the Head and Neck Cancer Immunotherapy Research Program at the Johns Hopkins University/Bloomberg-Kimmel Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy. His laboratory research efforts involve understanding the genetic and immunologic basis for response to immunotherapy to better personalize immunotherapy cancer care for patients with head and neck cancer.
