Dr. Taylor is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and serves as the Associate Clinical Medical Director of the Pulmonology and Sleep Division at UPMC – Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. She received her medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. Following a residency in Pediatrics at Vanderbilt University, she served as a pediatric pulmonary fellow at Saint Louis Children’s Hospital. In 2009, Dr. Taylor joined the Pediatric Pulmonary Division at Children’s Mercy Hospital, where she served as the Pulmonary Medical Director of the Multidisciplinary Muscular Dystrophy Clinic. She received a Master’s in Clinical Research from the University of Kansas. She was recruited to UPMC-Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh in 2019. Her clinical research involves working with de-identified databases for children with prematurity and interstitial lung disease. She is the pulmonary neuromuscular clinical director for the MDA clinic at UPMC-Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, the site co-PI for the PPMD clinic, and is on the medical advisory board for CureSMA. Dr. Taylor participates in several large national organizations and is a current board member for the local American Lung Association board of Western PA/WVA. She sat on the leadership council for the Midwest Society of Pediatric Research (MSPR) from 2019-2023. Dr. Taylor has also served on the American Thoracic Society's Pediatric Executive Committee as the web director and was awarded the Pediatric Assembly ATS Clinician Educator of the Year award for 2021. She currently serves on the ATS Journal Club committee, and organizes/moderates the monthly pediatric pulmonology ATS case conference series and Townhall series. Dr. Taylor is currently pursuing a Certificate in Medical Education and enjoys hiking and biking with her husband, two sons and dog Ellie. She loves astronomy, pottery and tries to cook with varying degrees of success.
