Dr. Tulunay-Ugur is an Associate Professor at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and is the Director of the Division of Laryngology. She has completed a Head and Neck Oncology Fellowship at Wayne State University where she was asked to stay on as faculty. Prior to this, she was a research fellow on a Ruth L Kirschstein National Research Award from the NIH, at the University of Minnesota where she worked on tobacco use and carcinogenesis. She also did further training in Laryngology and has been the director of the division of laryngology at UAMS since 2008. Dr. Tulunay-Ugur is known for her work in geriatric voice and swallowing problems and has presented on these topics in many national and international meetings. She is also the President-Elect of the American Society of Geriatric Otolaryngology and has been in the executive counsel since 2008. She has served on many committees and has been an active member of the AAO-HNS, as well as American Head and Neck Society. She is also a member of the Board of Governors and ABEA. She has published many articles and book chapters, especially in the field of dysphagia in the elderly and head and neck cancer; and is a reviewer for multiple journals including the Laryngoscope and Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery.
