Dr. C. Gaelyn Garrett is Professor and Vice-Chair of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). She is a highly regarded leader in the field of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. She is currently President of the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and past President of both The American Laryngological, Rhinological and Otological (Triological) Society and the American Laryngological Association (ALA). She is a recent past member of the ACGME Otolaryngology Residency Review Committee. At VUMC, she is the Guy M. Maness Chair in Laryngology and Voice as well as the Medical Director of the world-renowned Vanderbilt Voice Center. As the program director of the Laryngology fellowship, Dr. Garrett is heavily involved in the education of laryngology fellows, residents, and medical students. She teaches local and national courses in phonosurgery, lasers, videostroboscopy, and voice care for the professional voice user. Her medical and surgical expertise is sought by some of the world’s finest national and international singers and entertainers. Dr. Garrett has authored or co-authored more than 112 peer-reviewed articles and she has contributed more than 15 book chapters on various laryngology topics. She also completed a Masters in Management of Health Care at the prestigious Owen School of Management at Vanderbilt University.
