Rebecca J. Howell, MD is Director, Robin Cotton & Rocco dal Vera Professional Voice, Swallowing, Airway, Chief of the Division of Laryngology, and Associate Professor of the Department of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
I am the Division Chief of Laryngology, Director of the Voice, Swallowing and Airway Program, Supervisor for the outpatient clinical speech language pathologists, and fellowship director at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. My clinical practice involves the diagnosis and treatment of laryngological disease including in-office procedures, benign swallowing, swallowing after head and neck cancer, professional voice, aging voice, and multidisciplinary laryngological care. We have implemented a prospective database for all voice, swallowing, airway patients actively enrolling since 2016. I am a co-editor of the “Comprehensive Management of Swallowing Disorders, Second Edition” published by Plural in 2016. I received an Early Career Grant by the Triological Society in 2019 on long-term Dysphagia Outcomes in Hypopharyngeal Diverticulum, a prospective, international multi-institutional database looking at Early Dysphagia Outcomes in Zenker Diverticulum as part of the Prospective OUtcomes of Cricopharyngeal Hypertonicity (POUCH) Collaborative.
