Her scientific interests include hearing loss, tinnitus, vertigo, temporal bone histopathology, and gender research in otolaryngology. She has several publications in otology/neurotology and otolaryngology, including a landmark paper on sudden hearing loss. Book: Temporal Bone Histology and Radiology Atlas - 2018. AAO-HNS/F Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG): Sudden Hearing Loss, Thyroidectomy: Improving Voice Outcomes, Tinnitus, Adult Sinusitis. ECS: ET Balloon Dilatation. Research on intranasal surfactant for otitis media and Eustachian tube dysfunction.
Sujana has been named a Living Legend by AAO-HNS (2022) and received: AAO-HNS Distinguished Service Award, 2006 and 2012; Helen Krause Trailblazer Award from AAO-HNS WIOS, 2012; Physician Mentor Recognition Award, American Medical Association Women Physicians Section, 2013, Triological Society Presidential and Vice Presidential Citations.
Medical/surgical missions to Nicaragua; numerous lectures worldwide on otology/neurotology and leadership.
She is married with four children.
