Dr. Smith is an Associate Professor in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and the University of Cincinnati. He earned his medical degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine in 2011 and completed his residency in Otolaryngology at Henry Ford Hospital in 2016. He completed his fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Cincinnati Children's in 2018. He then went on to complete a Master's in Public Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2021.
He is an active member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, having previously served on the executive council for the Section for Residents and Fellows and currently on the executive council for the Young Physicians Section. He is also active in the Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Committee and sits on the ENT PAC board. He is also a member of the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology (ASPO), American Broncho-Esophagological Association (ABEA), American Thyroid Association (ATA), and Aerodigestive Society. His clinical and research interests are medical and surgical management of aerodigestive disorders and airway obstruction in children, improvement in the care of tracheotomized children, and pediatric thyroid disorders.
