Aristides Sismanis, MD is a Professor Emeritus of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia.
Dr. Sismanis belongs to many professional societies including the American College of Surgeons, American Triologic society, American Otological Society, American Head and Neck Society, and the American Neurotology Society. He has been invited to many national and international meetings and has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles. In 2006, along with Dr. Mohamed Hamid, he edited a textbook entitled “Medical Otology-Neurotology, a Guide for Auditory and Vestibular Disorders”.
His clinical practice and research interests are focused on cochlear implantation, congenital hearing loss, chronic otitis media, skull base surgery, pulsatile tinnitus, and autoimmune otologic disorders.
