4th year medical student
Indiana University School of Medicine
My name is Troy Wesson, BS and I am a student at Indiana University School of Medicine.
I grew up in La Esperanza, Honduras and came to the United States for my undergraduate degree in Biology at University of Northwestern in St. Paul, Minnesota. Choosing medicine was a no-brainer for me, but my decision to pursue ENT did not happen until halfway through clinicals during my third year. Inspired by what I had seen in the ENT clinics and OR, I delved into my ongoing research year. Some of my projects involve tissue-engineered matrices to aid with muscle reinnervation, variability in cochlear implant electrode insertion, and the relationship between hearing loss and balance. My clinical interests include facial reanimation surgery, sleep surgeries, and neurotology.
