Dr. Heather Weinreich is an associate professor and Director of Research in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Her background includes completing a Master in Public Health - Epidemiology at the University of Minnesota (UMN)- Twin Cities School of Public Health. She attended medical school at the UMN and graduated with her MD In 2008. She completed the trifecta of degrees from the UMN by completing her residency in Otolaryngology. With a love of the ear and hearing, she went on to complete a fellowship in Otology, Neurotology and Skull Base Surgery at Johns Hopkins University. In 2018, she moved to Illinois and has since been on the faculty at UIC. She believes in positively influencing the medical education, training, and practice of female physicians by exploring sex differences in ergonomics and the impact this has on the efficiency, confidence, and wellness of the surgeon. Dr. Weinreich is a surgeon-scientist and a former scholar in the UIC's NIH Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women's Health (BIRCWH) program.
