Paulina Awuah, MS is a current fourth year medical student at Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine. She received her Bachelor of Science from Grand Canyon University, majoring in biology. She then furthered her education by recieveing her Master of Science at Touro University Nevada. She has been involved in multiple leadership and community based improvement projects aimed at reducing the health burdens in the Nevada community. In the Nevada community, she has collaborated several times with the Nevada Office of Minority Health and Equity on health literacy access for marginalized Nevadans. Paulina Awuah has served as the past local chapter president for the nation's largest student governed organization, The Student National Medical Association. She was instrumental in the organization and facilitation of starting her institution's diversity committee and office. Through her work with The Student National Medical Association, she participated in the Global Health Fellowship, where she completed her research on current screening tools and potential consequences associated with under-diagnosing sleep apnea in pregnancy. Her passions include pediatric otolaryngology, health care disparities, and increasing equitable care for under-resourced communities.
