My name is Muhammad Sohail Awan, FCPS (Otolaryngology), working as Associate Professor at Aga Khan University Karachi, Pakistan.
I did my MBBS from Nishtar Medical College, Multan, Pakistan in 1990. Did my residency training at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, Islamabad and Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi and got my post graduate degree (FCPS) from College of Physicians and Surgeons, Pakistan in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery in 1998. I got my further training in the field of Otology (Ear diseases and surgery) from Wurzberg University, Germany and Portmann Institute, France. I have special interest in Cochlear Implant surgery and started a CI program at AKU in 2005 first of its kind in the country. Up till now we have done 900+ cochlear implant surgeries with very good results. I have keen interest in research activities and have 90+ national and international publications to my credit. Currently I am working as Associate Professor and Consultant Otolaryngologist at AKUH, I am residency director of ENT department and also leading the Cochlear Implant Program at Aga Khan University.
