Dr. Rastatter received his medical degree from Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center, Chicago, IL, in 2003. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at The Ohio State University Medical Center and Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute, in Columbus, OH. In 2009, he completed a fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Children’s Memorial Hospital and Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, IL. Also, at the Northwestern’s Feinberg School of Medicine, he completed a master’s degree in Health Services and Outcomes Research in 2019. Currently, he is on staff in Chicago at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and is an Associate Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the Feinberg School of Medicine of Northwestern University. Dr. Rastatter is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology.
Dr. Rastatter has maintained membership in many professional societies including the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology, the American Head and Neck Society, the North American Skull Base Society, the Children’s Oncology Group and the American College of Surgeons (ACS). He is an ad hoc reviewer for many peer reviewed professional journals. Dr. Rastatter’ s research interests include pediatric endoscopic skull base surgery, head and neck tumors, and thyroid disease. He has published multiple original, peer-reviewed research articles and book chapters.
