Dr. C. Burton Wood, MD is an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN. He completed medical school at UTHSC in Memphis followed by residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He completed a fellowship in head and neck surgical oncology and microvascular reconstruction at Washington University in St. Louis. His clinical interests include all facets of head and neck surgery with emphasis on microvascular reconstruction and complex ablative procedures. Additionally, he has interest in HPV+ cancers and the role of TORS in de-escalation of treatment for these patients. His research interests include clinical outcomes utilizing national database studies and the role of socioecononomic determinants of health and subsequent access to head and neck cancer care. He has interest in global health and has participated in surgical missions in Cap-Hatien, Haiti and Malindi, Kenya.
