Zainab Farzal, MD MPH is Head and Neck/Microvascular Reconstruction fellow physician at UCSF. She completed the 7-year surgeon-scientist residency track in the Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at UNC. She graduated from UT-Southwestern Medical Center in 2016 with Distinction in Research. During her time at UNC, Zainab completed an NIH T-32 research training post-doctoral fellowship, and also obtained her MPH from the UNC School of Public Health with a focus in Public Health Leadership. Her research interests are broad, and include health services research, addressing sex and race-related health disparities in surgery/medicine, and patint access to care issues within Otolaryngology.
